Tide Pool Thursday
8am - Drive by Mission Dolores for quick photo op, no time for tour.
8:15am - Stop at Dynamo Donuts for their world famous Maple Bacon Donut and even better Spiced Chocolate and Ginger Orange. Damn fine coffee too.
9am - Hit the road to Half Moon Bay on the ridiculously lovely Pacific Coast Highway (Route 1)
9:30am - Pull over for the scenery and tide pools at Moss Beach, rainy, foggy and purdy.
10:15am - Back on the road, off to San Jose to meet Flickr/7 Days/Facebook friend Catie and her fluffy terrier/serious flirt, Murray.
11am - Strolling Santana Row, shopping, chatting and throughly enjoying ourselves with new best pals.
3:15pm - Back on the road, marveling at the power and magic of the internet for bringing new friends together, and not forcing Catie to show us her backyard. (I don't think it was as bad as she said!)
5:30pm - Pulling into Pacific Grove and our quaint little hotel. Unpacking, walking to the lighthouse and along the rocks and taking in the vistas and the crashing surf just a couple minutes walk from our room. It's so quiet here, off season and peaceful.
7:30pm - Dinner at the Fish Wife or as Joe called it, the Sea Harlot. Seafood pasta, an extremely friendly waiter and the cheesy but welcoming 1980's tropical decor.
9:00pm - Crashing back on our comfy king size bed, and making reservations for the behind the scenes tour at the Monterey Bay Aquarium for tomorrow morning.
10:00pm - Writing pitifully phoned in blog and not caring at all because this vacation has sucked all of my energy with all the action, people, nature and massive amounts of pleasure seeking. Nighty-night, my friends.
(More photos to come, I think Joe's taken about 2,000 so far!)
