Yes, it's been six months since I last posted. And no, I haven't stopped reading. I'm still madly in love with the library. So much so that now I've got a library hold list back log and a huge stack of books from friends and family and my own choices that are slowly taking over all of the space in our bedroom. Currently I'm reading The Unlikely Disciple by Kevin Roose. Kevin is a college student at Brown and decides that instead of taking a semester abroad in Europe like his classmates, he'll take a semester "abroad" at Liberty University, the evangelical college created by Dr. Jerry Falwell, to educate and prepare college students in a safe and pure college campus environment. I'm only about 40 pages into the book but I'm really enjoying it. The college experience for Liberty students is the polar opposite of my own. And I treasured my college years, so its a fascinating look into a entirely different culture and community with norms, rules and expectations that are foreign to me. I'll write more when i finish. Visit shelfari.com to see what else I've been reading and to find some new choices for yourself!
